What is good posture? I get asked all the time what is good posture or what is a good way to maintain good posture. And today I’m going to share with you a really easy way to monitor your posture and to retrain yourself to have good posture throughout the day. It’s a very simple exercise. All you do is stand with your back against a wall. While your standing there, make sure that the following body parts are touching the wall:
1. heels
2. buttocks
3. shoulders
4. back of the head
Once all 4 parts of the body are in contact with the wall, then you are in what is considered perfect alignment. You then simply walk away from the wall and try to maintain this posture. At any point in the day, if you’re not sure if you are maintaining that good posture; simply repeat this exercise and reset your posture. By continually doing this exercise throughout the day you are retraining your body to know what is good posture. Eventually, by doing this exercise long enough, your body will start to “know” what good posture is automatically without needing a wall to reset yourself.
